Multi-Hand Blackjack is a game that is predominantly found in Internet casinos. The game of multi-hand blackjack is a variation of the standard blackjack game in that the game follows the same guidelines and rules that your traditional blackjack game follows. However, when playing the multi-hand variation of blackjack, players can take on up to five hands at once at the same blackjack table. This gives players a huge edge when card counts are in the favor of the player, but works against them when the card count is in favor of the house. The deck reshuffles when 20% of the cards from the blackjack shoe have been used in most Internet Multi-hand blackjack games.

In multi-hand blackjack, players are permitted to exercise the right to surrender. However, the surrender option may only be done upon receiving the first two cards in the hand. Players may not draw and then surrender. When determining when to surrender a hand in multi-car blackjack, players should consider exercising their right to surrender in a few different situations. When the player is dealt a hard card count of fifteen, they should surrender if the dealer is showing a ten, a face card, or an ace. When the player is dealt a hand valued at a hard sixteen, they should surrender if the dealer holds a nine, ten, face card, or ace. When holding a hard seventeen, players should surrender when the dealer holds an ace. Finally, the surrender option is the best course of action if the player holds a pair of eights and the dealer shows an ace. When surrendering in multi-hand blackjack, the player gives up or surrenders half their bet in exchange for being allowed out of the hand. The expected outcome for the above scenarios results in a net loss greater than one-half bet, which makes surrendering the most profitable option.

With the exception of exercising your ability to surrender in multi-hand blackjack, players should use the optimal strategy that they would use for playing traditional casino blackjack games. In multi-hand blackjack games, card counting can be an effective tool in reducing or eliminating the house edge. Players should up their bets in each of the hands they play when the card count favors the player. Likewise, they should play the maximum number of hands allowed when the card count is in the favor of the player. On the other hand, when the count favors the house, betting minimally and reducing the number of hands played is the most prudent course of action when playing multi-hand blackjack.
